Public Service Management & Welsh Assembly Government

The Welsh Leadership and Innovation Academy is facilitated by Public Service Management Wales and supported by the Welsh Assembly Government. Its role is to improve management and leadership across the Welsh public service and to work collaboratively, across traditional boundaries.

We provide a range of opportunities to develop people, organisations and systems leading to better and more joined up public services; a key part of the Welsh Assembly Government's strategy for improving public services in Wales.

We have identified the following key outcome areas for the Academy:

  • Improving management and leadership in a systematic and joined up way;
  • Using resources to achieve maximum impact;
  • Developing a shared standard for measuring management and leadership effectiveness;
  • Building a shared ethos of service excellence across the whole of the Welsh public service;
  • Preparing the grounds for future generations of talented managers and leaders to become part of the Welsh public service.
